Wave 'bye bye' to banoffee: our beloved bananas are going extinct

It's time to bid a fond farewell to everyone's number one lunch box filler, cake ingredient and hangover buster (it's the potassium – sorts you right out) forever.
Poor, poor bananas are headed towards extinction.
A new study, published in PLOS Pathogens, reveals that fungal disease Tropical Race 4 (TR4) is tearing through the fruit, and preventative efforts made so far have not been successful.

it will be like living in the war again. We had no bananas.
