Worry

Postby wendy » 19 Oct 2015, 17:36

I know many of you have terrible worries but try to keep steadfast and strong.
We listen to the news and there is more worry around the world.
I have never heard such worry, what do you think?

I try not to read to much into the troubles in the world, it's hard enough keeping on track with your own life worries.

I agreewith Mo, I cannot take on board all the horrible things in the media, I have enough worries of my own

I try not to worry what is going on in the rest of the world, as there is nothing I can do about it. I agree with Mo and Annie, I have enough worries of my own to contend with.

but how do you cope with your own worries. I find it really difficult and will feel relieve when I hand over Chill but at the same time great sadness.

Some of the time I just don't cope at all. My main way of coping is to be able to talk things through with a close friend, or diversion, like going for a walk

I do not cope as well as I use to, since having my cancer treatment. I am like Annie, when things are getting to much, I go for a long walk and that helps clear my head. I do also talk to close friends, which also helps.

I haven't been coping - I feel a failure.i have shut myself away and cried until I have no more tears. Today we have a meeting with continuing care- not sure wether to be honest and risk them taking over Marks care package

Debz you are not a failure, caring for someone with MS is very complex.

It's worth considering cont care to take on Mark's care package, I did from the start as I wouldn't have coped with the worry of arranging care and trying to do caring tasks the best I could.

Thinking of you all.

Debz you are not a failure. You do more than anyone could do for mark. You are an incredible person and so strong. We all doubt ourselves and worry we don't do enough or get it right. Mark is blessed to have such an amazing wife .

I avoid the news too. Like you all say coping with our own issues is hard enough. Like Rosalind and Annie I too enjoy a good walk when things get on top of me. Makes a huge difference to how I feel.

Glad we can all support each other

Sorry I am a bit late in replying.
Annie, I often wonder how you do cope and appreciate your cheerfulness but I know this sometimes hides deep hurts. I am glad Chill and the people involved are a comfort to you.

Rosalind, You appear to be such a quiet young woman, I sometimes seem to miss you, but I know you have huge battles to face with your dear mum, and with your own health not easy at all to do. I admire you.

Debs, Like the other members have said you are not a failure, you appear to be trying to fight the incoming tide, and as you will know this is impossible to do.
Have you moved house yet? I was hoping this would make things easier for you. Hold your head up high, what you are doing, is wonderful and in years to come you will look back and think however did you do it. You need to accept continuing care and realize how lucky you are to be offered it. People have to fight for it.

Jane, Your bright and happy posts are a joy to read, but I know there is a struggle you have to face most days. Thank goodness you have the boat to look forward to and of course your friends here on Chill.

Maureen, I know you have worries and sadness but you try so hard. You need to take a deep breath and do something nice for you. I am pleased you have your beautiful garden to enjoy and dear Derek to share the good moments of life. I know there has been lots of bad moments. Now is the time for living.

I wish I could do more for everyone of you, but all I can say is keep strong.

If I offend anyone then I apologise, but I feel that now I have nothing to lose in saying how I feel about you all. You are so precious to me, like a family.
