PIPs disability benefit delay unlawful, says High Court

Postby wendy » 05 Jun 2015, 10:04

A delay in paying welfare benefits to two disabled people was “unlawful” but did not breach their human rights, the High Court has ruled.

The unnamed pair had said their nine-month waits for Personal Independence Payments (PIPs) left them dependent on loan sharks and food banks.

How disgraceful is this!

another reason I am dreading our assessment this year. We have been turned down twice before and ended up under so much stress. We were lucky lees mum could lend us the money to get by. But the stress that we wouldn't be able to pay her back was awful.

I'm sure they are not human, they would not delay payment if they were.
