My sister bought my mum a mobile phone a few years ago, to take with her when she went out. Mum could not get her head around it, so never used the phone, it is lying in a drawer somewhere.

I think some people can grasp it easier than others, my late mum brought her first PC at the age of 80, she used it till she was 89 and had to go into a nursing home, she did shopping and banking etc, she also used a mobile phone and could us predictive text, but then she was lucky she had a good tutor.......Me

We have many older carers who have been delighted with their laptops or pc tablets.
It depends on their state of mind, if they want to use it or not.
I am in the older age group and I cannot imagine my life without the internet now.

I once took my Nan to an exhibition at Norwich Castle, her laughing like anything as the pictures as she clicked with the mouse, but that is as far as she took it. I managed to teach Dad the basics of playing card games which he quite enjoyed, and did "dabble" in online shopping -that is he told me what he wanted and where to shop and I scrolled through the pages as by that time he couldn't use a mouse ...
