Hi husband on lifetime DLA. Gladly the DWP saw evidence on how truly unwell he is so when we went on to esa from income support we had a phone call telling him he does not have to have a face to face assessment phew!! A yr ago! but now I am a bit worried probably hopefully over nothing when he changes to p i p i don't know when that will be because before then that is why I am hoping he will not need a face to face assessment again but he has bpd incontinence diabetes insulin dependent and depression and psychosis and pancreatitis incontinence both ends. I'm hearing horror stories! Abt disabled people dying? From hand of ian Duncan smith?

Hi Johanna,
Good to see you on Chill.
My thoughts are that we don't really have many answers on chill, but what I do know is that the support and care you will get from the members is outstanding.
Somehow we manage to support one another through the good times and when things get difficult, like it appears to be for you at the moment.
There may be some answers for you but remember this is my opinion, so I do hope you will stick with us and experience for yourself.

Hi Johanna, firstly welome to chill.
I don't know much about the new system changing from DLA to PIP but I think many people are worried about the change because it is quite a new way and a name change makes you feel unsettled, it doesn't affect me personally as I'm a pensioner and sadly a past carer.
Try not to worry to much and keep looking in chill, you will get lots of support from all the lovely people on here.

PIP won't affect anyone over 65 thank goodness , so my husband will not need to be reassessed, but my son will, he too, is a little worried, but it is best to wait and see what happens, and worry only makes it worse
