Good morning folks. Still very cold here, well it's always cold in Scotland so not a surprise but at least it is bright and the snow that fell last night seems to have disappeared here on the coast. The skiing season has started well with good snow on the slopes.
Today I shall post the last of the Christmas cards

I am off to get my tea now.
You may have wondered where I have been, well I have been proper poorly, but I have got dressed today, so must be feeling better.
We will sort out the arcade as soon as we can.

Hope everyone's doing ok. I had a physio/or assessment yesterday and being referred to the "falls" team to see if they can help me. Mark had physio this morning and fainted which is happening a lot now when he's sat up and moved too quickly but apparently nothing can be done so it's just something we have to cope with.

Just going to make some tea and give hubby his bedtime meds. It has been very windy and cold today but forecast says milder for the next two days. We do not have snow here on the coast, well not yet, but the Grampian skiing area is ready for everyone to polish their skis and hit the slopes.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night tonight if possible. h###u

Good morning, a bit of a damp day here but the temp is at 11c so quite a mild day.

Getting housework done today, a never ending job.
It's lovely to have my broadband working again and it does feel a bit faster.

Hope you all have a good day.

good afternoon,
I thought I would let you knot that I have been out today, the first day since Friday.
I went to Marks and Sparks in the village and then the post office and a few Christmas cards to deliver.
Then I went to the library to make arrangements for a big event that Chill will be holding and is rather exciting.
Then came home for a meeting and an important phone call.
I can tell you I slept after lunch, I was very tired.
It is difficult not being able to sort things out but there is nothing I can do until Friday.
Please help me to be strong.
love to all of you

Good morning, it's quite mild here at 12c but now getting blustery, went to Morrisons and it was very quiet in there, the lull before the storm I expect.

Your lunch yesterday sounds good Annie.

Thinking of you Jane for Lee's Aunt's Funeral.

thinking of Jane and family on this sad day. How lovely we have a new member posting, made my day.
Over Christmas holiday we have been given something to paint from a Thomas Hardy poem.
If anyone on chill would like to have a go, I will print out the poem.
I have finished it this afternoon and did a pastel colour. It is a long time since I did any pastel, you get dirt all over the place.
have a nice evening.

are you going to have a go at the painting?
I will share mine if you do.

A Gentleman's Second-Hand Suit
by Thomas Hardy

Here it is hanging in the sun
By the pawn-shop door,
A dress-suit—all its revels done
Of heretofore.
Long drilled to the waltzers' swing and sway,
As its tokens show:
What it has seen, what it could say
If it did but know!

The sleeve bears still a print of powder
Rubbed from her arms
When she warmed up as the notes swelled louder
And livened her charms—
Or rather theirs, for beauties many
Leant there, no doubt,
Leaving these tell-tale traces when he
Spun them about.

Its cut seems rather in bygone style
On looking close,
So it mayn't have bent it for some while
To the dancing pose:
Anyhow, often within its clasp
Fair partners hung,
Assenting to the wearer's grasp
With soft sweet tongue.

Where is, alas, the gentleman
Who wore this suit?
And where are his ladies? Tell none can:
Gossip is mute.
Some of them may forget him quite
Who smudged his sleeve,
Some think of a wild and whirling night
With him, and grieve.

Good morning, it's a bright sunny day here so I've taken advantage and changed the bed so I can put washing out to dry.
I've got my Brother and Sister in law coming over tomorrow, really looking forward to seeing them, he is the best tonic you can get, I always feel uplifted when I've seen him.

Hope you all have a good day.

Evening all,

thank you for your kind thoughts. You are all so wonderful. it was a hard one (aren't they all) but the reverend was the same one who did Lee's dad's funeral and there was some argey bargey between ex and present husband prior to the day. ex wanted to be in the funeral car. They were divorced over 30 years ago! Current husband has been found out just before her passing as having an affair for the last couple of years and got them into huge debt gambling. Their kids are distraught as you can imagine.

My parents are coming to visit tomorrow. They will be here until Sunday afternoon. They are of to Morton in Marsh for Christmas in their motor home.

Have fun with your visitors too Mo.

thinking of you all

Hello everyone

We've had two milder days but now the wind force is increasing so much colder again. Never mind, spring is around the corner. I noticed daffodils pushing through the ground already.

Hope you have a fine time with your brother and sister in law Mo - it's wonderful how some folks can be so uplifting. My elder brother was like that - somehow nothing seemed too bad when he had visited. Sadly he died earlier this year and I truly miss him a lot.

Loved the poem Wendy - hope you are feeling better now.
