Help

Did you know that NHS Direct is no longer available and instead they say dial 111 but that is advertised as saying emergency and urgent case medical problems.

It is all very confusing with the new number and services.

when ringing 999 unless it is life threatening you go through triage and could end up with a nurse sent to you or being directed to other assistance

It's very confusing, not what you want if you need medical advise, is it any wonder why people now go to A&E for minor ailments.

They suggest you visit the chemist, but how can you if you are poorly and on your own.
I found NHS most helpful in the past.

I would say dial 111, they will soon say if it's an emergency or not, better still call the Dr out.

It is thoughtless of them saying go to a chemist on a Sunday, the fact you are poorly means you cannot get to a chemist.

It is not a good situation. Chemists don't work unsociable hours on the whole, so only available when surgeries are open. The NHS is failing in lots of areas
