We all know that cats are everywhere online, but now you can find out where they live in the real world. This ingenious website analyses metadata from one million cat photograghs uploaded to the web, then places them on Google Maps.

While it's fun to browse, the website has a serious aim to highlight the "decreased privacy for all" online. The site's creator, Owen Mundy - an art professor at Florida State University - wants to highlight how unsafe it can be to post photos online, while also celebrating the web's "sociable and humorous appreciation of domesticated felines".
