I don't know whether you are aware of this viral charity phenomenon.
It is for ALS and motor neuron disease. You are nominated by someone then you have 24 hours in which to tip a bucket of ice water over yourself and up load it whilst nominating others. If you don't there is a monetary forfeit to be made.
Now on the face of it what a great idea to raise money and awareness. However.........
My eldest daughter was nominated and did the challenge today. The points i raised with her before doing this were:
Are you aware that clothing will cling and breasts be prominant. (Sam is an E cup)
You want to become a teacher what does this show future pupils when they can access you on you tube etc
The fact that you are female and large chested objectifies you and may be a titillating image for many males.
I don't want you sexualised as miss wet tee-shirt.
Sam has since done the challenge and posted it! Hey ho she was warned!!
Part 2:
My 11 year old was nominated yesterday and wants to do the challenge!
Add the above comments and also include her age! it would be a paedophiles dream to have access to underage children tipping water over themselves. some have already done it in bathing suits etc.
Is it just me over thinking this and being too over protective? I just think that if I was part of the charity whilst at first being grateful for the support and donations i would be horrified at where it is leading to. i hope they see these points and issue some sort of guidlines that is acceptable.
Liv will not be doing it nd when I explained why fully understood. Sam I am shocked at for doing but she is nearly 20 and has had the pros and cons. I just hope it doesn't come back and bite her on the bum!
