Open letter to David Cameron

Postby wendy » 28 Jul 2014, 11:06

We have been asked if we would like to add some words for an open letter that is being sent to David Cameron, about the difficulties that carers face since the Conservative government came into power.
If you would like to say something, please either post on here or send it to me by private message.

Here are my points to be added to the open letter.......

* When you look at saving the country money why bully and abuse the members of society that are unable to fend for themselves or answer you back

* Try considering what family carers save the country and be thankful to each and every carer.

* Support them by making applying for necessary benefits a traumatic and terrifying ordeal.

* Don't threaten people with removal of monetary and social support when it is needed for vulnerable people to be able to survive aand have a quality of life.

* remember WE VOTE TOO!

Replacing DLA with PIP, just an excuse to take away benefits off those  who are most vulnerable. You should realise how much stress and anxiety this causes genuine claimants

For David Cameron......................

What do you propose to do about giving the family unpaid carer 'the right to a family life' (under the human rights act) just like the criminals and asylum seekers are getting, carers cannot have a family life because care funding has been cut to the core, bedroom tax is forcing disabled people and their carers out of their homes even though family carers save this country millions of pounds every year.

I think it should be made easier to get Disabled Facilities Grants for adapting homes for disabled people who want to live at home.  We were told last Sept. that what I wanted wasn't an option we'd have to move to a bungalow. Earlier this year they came up with the idea I had in the first place.  It's been a nightmare, if they had listened to me last year it may all be done by now!!

I thought this private thread was private.
I am not happy.
obviously I misunderstood and for that I apologise. i was not aware that posting on this private forum would  let my reply be made public without my  permission.
"should be ok" is not acceptable.

Honey, thanks for creating a problem for us, as Annie has replied, I clearly stated that the letter was being sent to David Cameron.
Could you please explain to us what is your problem with the words that you posted?

Maybe you need to visit the opticians.

This thread is in the PRIVATE part of the forum so I cannot see what the problem is, the title of this subject is 'Open letter to David Cameron'  which suggests a letter will be sent to the PM.
How do we expect things to improve for carers if we do not speak out, or are you happy with how carers are treated by this Government because I'm NOT, even though I'm a past carer now I still want to see improvement for family carers now and for the future.

I have no problem if my name was used, I've nothing to hide and willing support anything that will improve the systems, chill4us campaigns for carers.

thank you Maureen and Liz
Please be aware that only registered members can post on chill and the experiment we did last night to see if guests would like to chat with us, came to nothing.
So we wont try it again, and our chat room will remain for members only.
We tried letting guests reply to topics once and we got a load of spammers selling stuff.
So that did not work.

I sent this email to Honey with the title
So sad

Dear Marie,
I am deeply sorry that you have chosen to leave us after all these years.  You will be missed greatly.
Please get in touch if you decide to change your mind.
The only reason I can think you are so upset is that someone else must use your log in and you did not agree with what they had put, but I wish you had explained to the members why you wanted to leave us.

Kind Regards
