Nine in ten people hate self-service checkouts
Is the end nigh for self-service?

By Sarah Coles, Jul 1, 2014

A new study has revealed that 93% of people find self service supermarket checkouts a frustrating nightmare. Those over the age of 55 find them particularly annoying - and a third of them say that they'd never use them - however busy the manned tills were.

So are the days of self-service tills numbered?  097 097 097 097

What do you think?

I don't like them, because something always goes wrong & then you have to call for & then often wait ages for a member of staff to help

It depends if I am in a good mood or "bad" mood .... and how much small change I have in my purse, especially 1p's, 2p's and 5p's ...

I don't like the darn things, when I used one once and the only time I was trying to get my glasses out read the stupid thing and it keep talking telling me to do this and that, in the end I thought shove it and went to a checkout where I didn't need my glasses.

I don't like them, I was late for work once when i popped in to buy a bunch of flowers for a present for a collegues birthday and thought it would be quicker than waiting at an ordinary till.  the elderly  man in front of me was buying a bottle of whisky, the till showed a red light and said please wait for assistance....
he had to wait ages before an assistant was able to verify his  purchase as they were assisting other people with problems on the  other self service tills.
i feel sorry for the shop staff , it must be stressful for them .
