Five people have died after a UK helicopter crashed in Afghanistan and Sky sources say all those on board are believed to be British.

The victims were military service personnel who were killed in the south of the country, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The ministry said it was investigating the circumstances of the incident but could not confirm the nationality of the troops who died.

An MoD spokesman said: "We can confirm that a UK helicopter crashed in southern Afghanistan today.

"The incident is under investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further until families have been notified."

Kandahar provincial police spokesman Zia Durrani said the helicopter went down in the Takhta Pul district, about 30 miles from the Pakistan border.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known but it was not believed to have involved any enemy action.

If the victims were confirmed to be British, it would be the worst UK air crash in Afghanistan since September 2006, when a Nimrod surveillance aircraft exploded in mid-air while supporting Nato ground operations near Kandahar.

All 14 servicemen on board that aircraft were killed.

Saturday's incident was the bloodiest day for international troops in Afghanistan this year.

It brings the number of foreign troops killed in the war-hit country in April to seven. A total of 23 have died in 2014.

Nato is preparing to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan at the end of this year, 13 years after the US-led invasion to topple the Taliban for sheltering al Qaeda leaders.

You must be using internet Explorer, in that case right click and select properties which is at the bottom and copy address URL

i have gone on to google  chrome and save image as come on,i will try  it

I think on Chrome you will need to select copy image URL.

Save image as will only save it to your computer as a file.

all I do when I find an article to post is
put the cursor on the top left bar
click on ctrl and c at the same time ....it will then turn blue
then open another internet explorer  window
go  on chill
find where I want to post
click on new post
then type in message bar whatever it is about
scroll down to where one posts
then click on ctrl and v at same time
press post
then it posts whatever you wish to send

You have to paste the image url between the brackets with no gaps otherwise it will not work, the link you posted is for the page not the image
