The cause of Peaches Geldof's sudden death will be released when an inquest is opened and adjourned next week.

There is still mystery about what happened to the mother of two, whose body was found at her home in Kent on April 7.

A brief hearing, expected to last only about 10 minutes, will be held in Gravesend on Thursday.

A senior police officer will read a statement about Ms Geldof's death before the coroner, Roger Hatch, reveals what caused her to die.

A full inquest is expected to be held in late July.

Kent Police previously said they were treating the death of the 25-year-old daughter of Sir Bob Geldof as "unexplained" but "non-suspicious".

A post-mortem examination held two days after the writer, model and broadcaster died proved inconclusive and the results of a toxicology report have not yet been released.

Ms Geldof, who had two young children with her second husband, musician Tom Cohen, died a day after posting a picture of her and her mother online.

Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 at the age of 41.

Ms Geldof's funeral was held at the same church as her mother's earlier this week, with stars including Kate Moss, Jools Holland and Bill Wyman among the mourners.

Sir Bob previously paid tribute to his daughter, describing her as the "wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers" member of the Geldof family.
