Ageing without children: why is no one talking about it?

Without family carers, the health and social care system would collapse yet no one is addressing the growing number of older people without family to care for them

This should be addressed in government.
The dementia crisis has suddenly become a big issue, if they planned more for the future, then we would not have another 'scare' forced upon the general public.

Governments always seem to be reactive nad not proactive to major issues of the country then they expect us to be supportive of them.

Govts have always waited until situations reach crisis level before they act & it is always too little too late, you ar absolutely right Wendy

The government always waits until the last minute before they do anything and it is normally to late. I worry about it as I do not have any children, so no one to look after me in my old age and you hear such bad reports about nursing homes etc  an??

I fall into the category of not having anyone to look after me if I were to become unable to care for myself, I'll be destined for the scrap heap.
