January, thick with snow,
Can’t get out. Nowhere to go.
February, cold and pouring rain
Stuck inside the house again.
March, walking over hills and vales
Push the wheelchair through howling gales.
April brings the gentle showers
But they go on for hours and hours.
May, little birdies learn to fly,
Through clouds of midges in the sky
June, flowers bloom en mass
And cricket balls through greenhouse glass.
July, paddle in the sea.
Freezing water and sand in tea.
August, burning barbecues, wine in jugs
Covered in wasps and other bugs.
September, brings fruit supplies,
Can’t get in the fridge for apple pies.
October, all the leaves are turning brown,
Outdoor pursuits are shutting down.
November, burning wood makes a pong,
Bangs and rockets all month long.
December, Christmas shopping in slush and rain
Long, cold, dark nights and then…….
It’s bloody January again
