FIREFIGHTERS have confirmed they responded to a dozen wind-related call outs in just two hours this afternoon after a possible tornado hit the county.
Essex Fire and Rescue attended 12 incidents of fallen trees, and signs left in a precarious position after the strong winds and rain occurred earlier today, between 4.30 and 6.30pm.
They also received dozens of calls in total during the brief period of extreme weather.
The Essex Weather centre are now looking into the possibility that the weather was in fact a small tornado between Harlow and Colchester.
