Clean your washing machine
To clean the drum, remove smells and kill bacteria add two cups of Soda Crystals to the detergent dispenser on an empty cycle and run on the longest hottest wash.

Once the cycle is complete, add 500ml of White Vinegar to the drum, and run another empty cycle on the longest hottest wash. This will eliminate any limescale and detergent from the pipes, leaving your washing machine sparkling and working more efficiently. This should be repeated every 4 - 8 weeks to ensure unpleasant odours and bacteria do not accumulate.

I always tumble dry my towels. I have never used fabric conditioner on them as it leaves a coating on the towels so they are less effective when you dry yourself!

I always use white vinegar and a hot wash. It's a lot cheaper than the machine cleaners.

Oh, lovely, I might give that a go myself as I have a steel sink in the kitchen. I was wondering what soda though, I am assuming it is washing soda?

it is the cheap soda, I always keep some in, and it is useful for cleaning the sink drain, and all sorts of things.

I would never be without soda in the house, but I must buy some white vinegar, I have not tried that.
What other things do you use soda for?

Soda cuts through grease like nothing else.

white vinegar is good for descaling.

I also soaked my venetian blinds in hot water with soda in the bath, and they were cleaned lovely with no scrubbing.
Do you have any more tips?
