Councils are handing out Blue Badges to people who are so overweight they can no longer walk more than 50 metres to get to the shops, it has emerged.

Obese drivers, who are so heavy they cannot walk more than 50 metres, are being issued with Blue Badges, it has emerged.
The permits, which are supposed to help the disabled, are being issued to people because they struggle to use public transport.
At least half a dozen such permits were recorded in Britain in the last three years, according to figures obtained in a Freedom of Information request by MailOnline.
But there were fears the number could be far higher because many councils do not keep records of the reasons for handing out the badges.
