Debz if the hospice has offered you counselling I would take it, it could help you in the long term, it's not strange to have it when the person is alive, as a carer the illness of a loved one is in a way a bereavement of a normal life that person isn't able have.

I declined any Counselling because of an experience I had some years ago, it led me down a route that I didn't want to go down that was unrelated to what I went for, but, I know many people have benefited from it.
