Happy birthday Callum, I hope you are having a nice day.

Cold and grey here. But exciting as my s-i-l gave birth this morning to a little girl. They haven't decided on a name yet. She is having to stay in for tests as they suspect she may have downs syndrome. The picture I got was so adorable. She is a little sweetheart.

The girls and I finally put up the christmas decorations! Better late thn never! So we are all festive her and ready to celebrate.

Be lovely having a new baby for Christmas. My other niece is now 1 so she will enjoy the day more.

Love and hugs to you all,

Jane

d879  Good morning - bitterly cold here today - snow on the hills so the skiing season will flourish.

I have been making potato and leek soup for lunch and now having coffee and catch up.  Hope Callum had a lovely birthday, Annie.  Jane - hope the baby's tests turn out fine and that the little sweetheart and mum will be home soon.

I have posted the Christmas cards now and we have received quite a number - unfortunately hubby keeps knocking them down so it is a bit chaotic (in a nice kind of way)

Good morning, it is cold wet and windy. Had a frustrating morning on the phone to the builder, insurance and bt.  but got all sorted eventually. negotiated a new contract with bt  & they are sending me a brand new bt vision box which I can catch up on all programmes instead of a selected few, only problem is I will lose everything I have recorded on the old one, so will have to get Bill to watch all his recordings this week. Oh dear that could be a problem!. The insurance is sending an assessor out to review the damage to the roof. Hope you have a good day

Evening all,

grey and damp here today.

Went to Alivia's school for songs around the Christmas tree which was lovely. Feeling quite Christmassy even though I haven't finished all my shopping yet!!

Hope everyone is safe and warm

d879  Good morning

I'm amazed to be the first poster this morning and it is nearly midday!  Hope everyone is ok?
We had very hard frost this morning so some danger on the roads - black ice.  I always think of people commuting early in the morning, hopefully the gritters will have been out early to keep the main roads safe.

I got some quick shopping earlier on as we needed milk - nurse coming in to do another blood test for hubby.

At risk of sounding like Scrooge, I am getting fair scunnert with all the Christmas hype, nothing to do with the real Christmas.  I love to see everyone having fun but I'll be glad where all that tinny supermarket music is switched off.

I love seeing those young children Nativity Plays which are featured on This Morning this week.  Bless 'em they are so innocent and natural.

Good Afternoon, had Christmas lunch with my friend Ann, it was lovely.  I might not be around for a few days, going to the hospital on Wednesday  for a blood test, then back on Thursday to see the consultant. Hopefully he will tell me what the blood test was all about and give the results of  the PET scan. Hope  everyone has a good day.

We have our steadfast members who work hard to make chill interesting for carers and past carers.
We constantly remind ourselves how lucky we are to have you as our members.
But a gentle reminder to other members,-------------------- that if everyone came on and read stuff without leaving a posting, there would be no Chill.
Please remember what Chill means to you and maybe has done so, for many years, and if you really do want to help other carers who may be having a difficult time.  If so, then please say hello to your friends...

Good afternoon, it has been a very cold day here, been to Pilates, arranged for the insurance assessor to come (would you believe Christmas Eve? No way the repair will begin until new year now, as the builders close until 2nd Jan. Went across town to get Bill's family cards delivered & then to Callum's Christmas Carol Concert - what a joy! there is nothing like the sound of children singing to lift the spirits!!!! Got my Christmas chocs bagged up & I was really good & didn't scoff any, but the remainder are in the fridge beckoning to me!!!! They are delicious, I make them with best quality choc & then tip in pistachios and cranberrys - yum!!!
Hope you have had a stressfree day

evening all,

Annie my mouth is watering at the thought of your chocolates. There will be lucky people to receive those.

Been Christmas shopping in town and over done it a bit. So rather cross with myself. I tend to forget it was only a couple of months since my operation!

Hope the tee tree gargle works Wendy. I always like a honey and hot lemon whilst my dad swears by whiskey!! But any excuse for him!!

Thinking of you all,

Good morning all my chill friends. Can't believe its Xmas in a weeks time. Dudley has gone out to terrorise the neighbourhood and I have got my jobs done early as I couldn't sleep. It's really cold today with a heavy frost so put heating on. Hope everyone has a reasonable day

Good morning

Very very cold today as we have high winds (I couldn't sleep last night, the gusts were terrible, lots of banging about so there must be some damage again)

Nice to "see" everyone this morning.  Countdown to Christmas - this time next week.  I love Christmas Day itself but all the hype is another story.

In a few minutes there will be children's Nativity Play on This morning, a different school each day - they are lovely to see, and their singing is wonderful.

Hope everyone is managing ok today xx

Do not imagine that you "wasted your time" because

something didn't turn out right. There is no such thing

as "waste" in the Universe. Everything -- everything --

yields benefit.

It's true. And your life will show you this. So don't

decry the "effort that failed." All things lead to your

highest good. You just may not know it yet.

You know even now why you just read this...

Good morning, it is cold and sunny. had a shock yesterday, they have been to look at the dormer  , there is quite extensive rot & think it may need completely rebuilding, we are talking several thousand pounds!!!! They won't be absolutely sure until they take off the felting, so there is still some hope of a repair albeit a slim one. I ma starting with a sinus infection, not what I needed in time for Christmas, as you can guess I am not a happy bunny this am.. It is choir  practice this afternoon, don't really feel up to going but at least the singin lifts my spirits & I can forget everything for a couple of hours.
Hope you have a good day

Dear Ann,
That sounds awful, I hope they get it sorted soon.  Uncertainty is worse than knowing.
I am poorly in bed with a bad cold and chest, so I am keeping warm and leaving you to get on with running the forum.
thank you

What a worry for you Annie, I hope it can be repaired.

Wendy I hope you feel better very soon, there are a lot of people with bad colds at the moment, they always seem to be about at this time of year.

Goodness Annie what a bundle of stresses you are having. Keeping my fingers crossed that only a repair will be needed.

Sorry you are so poorly Wendy. Let me know if you need a bit of vicks rubbing in!! Get well soon.

Had coffee with a friend who I haven't seen in ages which was nice. Liv had her Christmas disco and loved it. Sam has broken up and I am compiling a shopping list for the super market and trying to pluck up the courage to go!!!

Thinking of you all

A late "hello" from me.  I haven't been well for the past two days and feel awful right now - haven't eaten anything and would love to just get into warm bed and rest - but the caring "treatmill" continues to turn.  Sorry you are under the weather Wendy - hope you improve soon.
