Good morning, it is a mild sunny start here.  The Roofing firm didn't show up yesterday re the estimate, I have asked another one to call today - we shall see!! I am going to a carers' Christmas lunch today, looking forward to that. Hope you have a good day

Got to go out this morning but hoping to be back to help serve and clear up after the residents lunch, it is corned beef hash today followed by Baileys profliteroes (probs spelt wrong lol) and cream. Good morning everyone. We have finally sorted or started to sort out ongoing problems that need dealing with!
Marks sister is not doing the 20 hours that's she's paid for so after Xmas we are going to have a discussion and set down some rules! The agency have a lot of sickness and been trying to cut our calls but I put my foot down and now we have all our calls back! It's cold but sunny today so trying to remain upbeat!

\Just reading Bernie's post reminded me that I hadn't had corned beef hash for absolutely ages - profiteroles sound delicious too.  We're having chicken tonight. 

It has been dull today but very mild and early dark.  If it stays like this I shall be quite pleased as it is too mild for snow  09klj

Been on duty today with the community first responders. We had no call outs today.

Did some Christmas shopping as my parents are coming on Friday for a couple of days and want to give them their presents.

Go Debz!!! Well done you for putting your foot down! No-one will mess with you in the future! It's a hard thing to do so am very proud of you.

Good morning, it is grey and miserable.

Well the 2nd roofer was also a no show yesterday, back to the drawing board, it is so frustrating! Need to ring the council this morning, they didn't bother to take my recyclables yesterday, despite taking the rest of the streets & then last night, when I was doing my knitting , I noticed that I had not read the patterne correctly in the first few rows, so, I pulled back a hundred and twenty  rows, only to find I had read the pattern correctly after all, 20 stitches was indeed 20 stitches , not 20 rows as I second guessed!!! I  fell like starting the week all over again.

The carers meal yesterday was fantastic, I hadpotted crab to start, Halibut for the main and Eton mess for pud, followed by coffee and mince pies, I was stuffed & enjoyed jolly good company too

I have the joys of Aldi this am & then Carers Chorus this afternoon.

it was a hard frost here last night, so I hope you are warm.
I had a man come to collect a settee for the Salvation Army, he said the people who have their furniture are vulnerable.  I said I was vulnerable, but he would not stop spouting about everyone being volunteers.
I thought of all of us, and kept my mouth shut.  He would not have listened if I had tried to tell him, he wouldnt stop, and he did not take the settee. I have waited 3 weeks for them to come, now Scope are coming to collect it on Tuesday.  I bought it from Scope last year.

Good morning. A heavy frost this morning so got heating on. Dudley want out briefly but soon returned and is now on his radiator bed fast asleep! I'm going out soon for a couple of hours then tomorrow I have the hair dressers to get rid of my grey!! Have a good day and keep warm everyone.

Hello everyone - a bit late as usual.

That was a lovely meal Annie - and it's great to have nice company too!  Pity about the roofers not turning up - it's such a nuisance when people do not turn up when they have promised to do so.

I think I have written out all the Christmas cards now so will get them posted tomorrow.  Local ones can be delivered by churches - I don't know what they are charging this year but it is always less than stamps.

Good morning, it is cold and grey. it is Callum's 9th birthday today, I hope to go round there later. I am doing a pot roast brisket for tea , so will have to get it on shortly, nothing else planned for today.

Slow cooker working nicely here too Annie.  The sun is shining but the sky is very red so we probably will have storms later today as forecast. 

Being Sunday it will be a very quiet day for hubby and me - the radio is playing nice Christmas Carols.

Running a bit late today but got round to posting eventually! Dudley refuses to go out as it's really windy and pouring with rain. He is however patting the window as the rain  trickles down which is funny. Done all my chores and Marks watching a film so it's a bit of me time with late lunch and a cuppa.
