Something for you to do

Postby wendy » 22 Nov 2013, 17:49

We have nearly 1,000 members and we need to encourage them how to take part

Can we write a joint message that I can send out to all members.
Just add a sentence and I will put them together.

Please help me, as I never know what to say.

Hi everyone,

Ok I get the idea you want me to send something out like this

Hi everyone, we hope you are all managing to keep yourselves warm now it's turned cold however chilly you feel you are sure of a warm welcome in Chill. We have lovely ideas for warming winter dishes,
Only three of our members are concerned about you, the rest could not give a toss.
You stay on your own, isolated and thinking no one cares, when the carers on the forum are having a good time.
We appreciate you want to stay on your own and you dont want any help to join us, when maybe you are sitting there crying.

I give my all for all of you and when I ask for some help, no one has responded and yet we know the members who have read this.
I am in shock.

23 people have viewed this topic but have had few replies, a big thank you to Sandy and Sandra who cared enough to.

So do you think this is what should be sent out to all chill members, and is this the format we should use in future general messages to encourage members?

I was trying to write something out to put on here, and have rewritten it several times. I don't like to write anything without thinking it through first. x Jeanne

thank you Jeanne, I felt as though me and Mo were talking to ourselves
all we need is a few ideas and a little help.
thank you and of course to the members who replied when I first asked for help.
it is the members that have read and not replied that make me feel unwanted.

I can remember the time on chill when members jumped at the chance to have their say on matters, the forum would be inundated with ideas, it worked as a team, happy days.

Thanks ever so much Ann.  I am 71 years of age and I feel we are so lucky to have Chill and while I am still able to keep it going, this is why I really do appreciate members help.  Maureen and I work very hard but sometimes we get stuck for ideas.
Everyone has different ideas and all we ask is one sentence from each of you.

So up to now we have this

Hi everyone, we hope you are all managing to keep yourselves warm now it's turned cold however chilly you feel you are sure of a warm welcome in Chill. We have lovely ideas for warming winter dishes,
We hope you enjoy being part of the Chill extended family but if you could tell us what you like then we will try our best to find something of interest for you.

Sorry I didn't see this topic until now.

can I add a line or is too late?

If I can, can I say that...................

We are always interested in topics that anyone wants to talk about and many members have a lot of advice and experience to share with you, hopefully you will share yours too.

Wonderful Jane, thank you, it is not too late at all, I dont know if it will do any good by us sending out the message, I seem to have lost faith.
But I hate to think of all those members that have joined Chill, and still feeling left out.
anyone else got something to add.................

I think part of who we are as a chill family is not to give up on fellow carers even if they have yet to join in with the site fully.

If we keep persevering one day they will gain the confidence to engage with the rest of us. Even if only one person feels able to post after you send this message it is a resounding success.

gpr

Chill has members who are, or have been, carers in many different caring roles.  If you post a message you will receive replies from others with similar experience who can help answer any queries you may have and who will willingly share information gleaned from their own experience - and you will be most welcome.
