The arrival of Horace

Postby mumxtwo » 16 Jul 2012, 17:13

I have been preparing to bring a new puppy home to live with us. Today he is here. He is almost 2 months old, a pomeranian & I have called him Horace.
He cried all the way home in the car, then for an hour when he got here. He has so far piddled on the carpet 4 times. Thankfully he slept for about an hour this afternoon. He has eaten a little tea & is now crying again.
Oh dear, what have I done? Bless him, he is going to be such a handful but he is so cute.
The plan is that he will help my eldest who suffers from OCD as pet therapy but we may have to get the toilet training sorted first.
I also want to take him to visit my youngest son who lives in a nearby home.
We already have a cavalier called Tinker who has his nose well out of joint at the moment. At one point this afternoon when Horace was running riot Tinker took refuge in Horace's cage!!
It could be a long night......  768

Horace has a cuddly dog twice the size he is! He found Tinkers' tail a little while ago, poor Tinker was very patient with him.  sp0
He is now asleep, doesn't bode well for later  sp0

Morning all  ++!
'Day 2 in the Horace household' - Part 1 ( and no i didn't watch Big Brother!!)
Horace slept through till 5am this morning, I put him out & he did a huge wee then was quiet till 7am!!
In the last couple of hours he has eaten his brekky, played with his toys, pooed outside, tiddled on the carpet 3 times & is now asleep again.
Bestest thing of all is he has a waggy tail today  gre55555

Day 3  9u54

Horace was a little monkey yesterday, he just kept looking for trouble. He decided to chase MollyMay the cat & got a hiss & a smack from her for doing so. I think he learned his lesson there.
He also went after Tinker's food so got squared up by Tinker. Then Tinker was worried that he would get told off so he went & hid in his bed like a big wimp!!
We played ball in the garden to tire him out - didn't work - he was full of beans & I was shattered!!
This morning he started crying at 3.30am. I decided to leave him to his own devices as he has to learn to go through the night. Horace kept crying, I kept hiding under the duvet to shut out the noise (phew it was hot)
Hubby came in from work at 6.10am & put him out. He then continued to cry so I got up to loads of fuss & licks. Little monkey has now been curled up sound asleep by my feet for last hour, if only I could join him.
I am worn out -  may have to change my username to mumxthree at this rate  452

I am really enjoying the tales of Horace,

keep them coming.

i have to say i'm pleased it's all happening in your household.

i just couldn't cope with the lack of sleep!!!

i'm sure he will get into a routine soon.

with the other pets (cat and dog) he's not going to get all his own way is he ??

keep the diary coming ....love it

So pleased you are liking my posts  xmas5

Day 4

We had a good day yesterday, Horace even tolerated being on the lead for several minutes then it turned in to a wonderful tug-of-war.
Hubby has had to cordon off a piece of patio for him as he has been picking all my flower heads off for me!!
I went to the shops yesterday & Oust & anti-bacterial gel were on offer so that was handy.
Slept through till 5.30am this morning. He has started to torment Tinker when he is in his bed.
