Thanks for the leaflet posting Wendy, some of it is very helpful. Especially wearing several layers of cotton clothes, which I do. We have started wearing woolly hats indoors, lol, but it does help! George even wears a scarf sometimes, he looks like he is going carol singing! anything to keep warm. We have bought two halogen heaters, as I have heard they are much cheaper to run than other types of heaters. Am thinking of taking a hot water bottle when I go out on the scooter. I know someone who takes one to church! don't blame them either. I hope everyone here manages to keep warm this Winter. Especially hard if you are not very mobile. x Jeanne

when it is very cold, I wear a hat indoors, but a scarf does help, and they are fashionable as well.
But I feel warmer with a scarf around my neck.

ju098  Last winter I bought gel hot pad from Lidls - when arthritis flares up these gel pads are just great, heat in microwave and they stay warm for a good while.  I know that people use them when attending football matches or other outdoor spectator situations so this could be a good thing for your outings on the scooter Jeanne.

I always wrap up warm when I go out but don't like to be muddled up indoors.

I always wrap up warm and use base layers when outdoors.

I make sure the girls and Lee are dressed appropriately in doors too. the amount of time they want the heating on and they are wandering around in a t-shirt is ridiculous!

Today is only the second time the heating has been on for an hour! I think as we have cavity wall, loft insulation and had a new boiler energy is very efficient in our house. We have a terrace and our new neighbours are over from India and I suspect have their heating quite high. We had neighbours from Malasia a few years ago and they had theirs on at 30 degrees!! It seemed to heat us too!!

We live in an end of terrace, so it can be quite cold. I can't wait for the council to instal double glazing next year, if their budget allows. x Jeanne
