Making our voices heard about Norfolk County Council budget proposals for the years April 2014 - April 2017

Norwich Older People’s Forum (NOPF) is holding a special meeting on:

Tuesday 12 November at Blackfriars Hall, St Andrews Plain, Norwich, NR3 1AU.

Harold Bodmer, Norfolk County Council director of social services and Councillor Sue Whitaker, Norfolk County Council cabinet member for adult social care will speak about the county council’s proposals for making savings of £189 million over the next three years and how they could affect older people in Norwich. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for discussion and to ask the speakers questions.

Norfolk Older People’s Strategic Partnership which is chaired by Joyce Hopwood who is also NOPF’s Chair, has produced the attached information sheet for you to read before the meeting. It includes some general ideas for questions for the speakers, just to get you started, but we would like you to bring your own questions with you on the day if you can. Listening to the speakers may well give you ideas for questions too. This is your opportunity to have your say and help NOPF to influence where the county council should prioritise its spending.

This is a very important issue for older people and NOPF want as many people to attend as possible so please tell your friends about it.  You do not need to let me know if you will be coming.

The meeting will start at 10am and refreshments will be available from 9.30am. It may be possible to arrange transport for you; please contact Bob at Age UK Norwich on 01603 496323 for more information.
