How many churches and cathedrals can you spot ???
If you click on the pic and it opens in Photobucket, then click on the little magnifying glass with the plus sign it will come up much larger and more detailed

I have enlarged the pic and tried to put arrows where the churches are that I can spot (or think i can) I have tried to put number above them using "Paint" but they haven't all come out that clear
1 - St Peter Mancroft
2 - Trinity Church, Essex Street
3 - St Mary the Less, Queen Street
4 - Norwich Cathedral (C of E)
5 - St George's Tombland
6 - St Peter Hungate, Prince's Street
7 and/or 8 - Octagon Chapel and Old Friend's Meeting House, Colegate
9 - Not sure about this one -might not even be a church???
10 - St Andrews near Bridewell Alley
11 - St Giles, St Giles St (near top of Grapes Hill)
12 - Norwich (Catholic) Cathedral
13 and/or 14 St Margarets (not sure which is nearest the C of E Cathedral) they are on St Benedicts Street.
15 - St Benedict's (bottom of Grapes Hill)
16 - St Helen's Bishopgate
.. again, if you click on the pic and it opens in Photobucket , just click on the little magnifying glass with the plus sign in it, top right of the photo ...

That's right Wendy .. A church for every week and a pub for every day of the year.
I went to a talk at the Forum once on the boozing history of Norwich .. the chap who was giving the talk reckoned that if you counted all the ale houses as well as the pubs, there was some 4 or 5 drinking establishments for every day in the city !
