New Furry Addition To The Family

I have adopted a four year old Jack Russell for an animal rescue centre near to where I live. We have called him Milo. He has settled in well and does as he is told, he is no bother, he loves his walks, which is good as I love walking and being in the fresh air. Mum has fallen in love with him and when I am out, he goes to sleep on her knee and they have 40 winks together.

I had to take Milo to the vets on Tuesday night, as he was straining trying to do a poo and yelping, it was awful. The vet felt him and said he felt fine, she said she would have to do an internal. I held his head as best as I could and when she felt inside, she said it was hard and packed tight. The vet could not get the poo out in one go, so was twisting and breaking it away. There was blood because of the straining, so he was given antibiotics, so the area does not get infected. He is also taking lactulose and he is now eating and his bowels are back to normal. Both him and I were stressed and I think he was traumatised by what was done to him, but he is fine now. It cost £43, which I did not think was bad, considering what was done and the medication he was given. Never a dull moment in the Wood household.

Milo has come back from his walk, with two little stripes of tar on him. I do not know what he has rubbed against or where. I did not see any tar, I have rubbed it and got rid of the stickiness but will have to wait for the marks to grow out. Worse than having a kid do877 .

The marks will probably wear off with any luck, dogs will be dogs.

Had Milo out for his walk 643 , he suddenly made a dash forward, he had spotted a little field mouse, walking along the path. Luckily I managed to pull him back or he would have caught it. We then watched the little mouse carry on his travels a long the path, with Milo straining on the lead to go after it. do877
