Um......Hello........Nervous Wave

I have been lurking for a week or so now & have finally taken the plunge to comment on Maureen's Christmas blog. Consequently I felt I ought to introduce myself.
I live at the seaside in Essex with hubby & 2 of our 3 children. Hubby has congenital muscular dystrophy which is deteriorating quite badly at the moment. Our elder daughter lives with us and has ulceritive colitis, immune problems and early arthritis. She is in her early 20s and works. Our son also lives with us - he has just started his A-level courses and has ASD with various associated problems. Our younger daughter is away at university.
I support Hubby to work part time from home & also work from home myself. I am very fortunate that Hubby can be left at home alone (provided I am at the end of a phone for emergencies) although he is now unable to go out without help ie Me!!
We consider ourselves fortunate that we can tick along without outside carers & are still able to work as well as go out & about for hobbies etc. It does get harder each year, Hubby gets tireder & less able & I need to do more but on the whole things aren't too bad.

My wish for every carer this Christmas is that they get a little bit of time to themselves & have a chance to do something just for them.

Deb
