I very briefly popped into the city to go to Jessops to see the manager (as advised by the administrator) long story but not here…

The hedge by the bus stop looked nice ..

Image

I didn’t hang about long, it was surprisingly clear in the city, not very many people about to start with… more coming in as I got to bus stop to come home…

Got to top of Prince of Wales Road looking towards the bus station and it looked like a curtain of fog coming towards us …I knew it wasn’t.. the snow got worse and worse as we got nearer home…

Riverside Road

Along Plumstead Road and on parts of the estate you could hardly see, n the bus driver was having problems keeping the windscreen clear so he could see

Norwich Ring Road

At a couple of junctions as the bus turned the corner you could feel he was struggling to get a grip…

In now safe n warm, n just ahd a bowl of hot soup for dinner ...

Norwich Airport has been forced to close due to heavy snow

Heavy snow has continued to cause disruption in Norfolk, with flights being cancelled and trains delayed.

Norfolk County Council said more than 57 schools had closed due to the cold weather, citing problems with ice, transport and heating.

Norwich Airport said it had been closed until further notice, advising people to contact their airline.

Greater Anglia said problems owing to snow had caused train delays between Norwich and Cambridge.

Norfolk Police said snow was causing a "gridlock" in Norwich, with drivers experiencing "hazardous driving conditions".

Grapes Hill on the inner city ring road has been closed as vehicles struggled to get up its steep slope.
Roads blocked

Police have closed much of Norwich City Centre because of the heavy snow fall with drivers being stopped at the Grapes Hill roundabout.

Lorna Gillin lives on Long John Hill, on the outskirts of Norwich, and said traffic was struggling to get up its steep slope.

Several stretches of road are blocked around the county and some schools are deciding to close early.

The A149 north Norfolk coast road has been blocked by snow and abandoned vehicles between Sheringham and Blakeney.

There are also problems on the A47 westbound at East Tuddenham near Dereham, the A11 northbound at Wymondham, the A140 Norwich to Ipswich Road at Dunston Hall and the A148 Norwich to Holt Road at Letheringsett.

Police have urged people to take care and stagger journeys where possible.

Bus operators have also been suffering severe delays due to worsening conditions, with Norwich park and ride services being suspended.

The Met Office has issued a yellow snow warning for the East of England, meaning the public should be aware of more disruption to come.

As much as 17cm (7in) of snow fell in parts of Norfolk on Monday.

than999  I have just been hearing on the local radio about people having left the Norfolk n Norwich hosp at 1.10pm and still haven't got to the Easton roundabout.

Traffic all over the city is at a standstill... Dereham Road, The Avenues ... I hate to think how Door-to-Door are doing today, I would imagine they have cancelled the pm trips?
