I think the hardest part about being on your own, or even caring for someone who is ill, is not having someone to discuss problems with.
I really find life difficult having to make decisions all the time, on my own.
It is not easy.
How is it for you?

Same for me really, but I find doing any big jobs or DIY really difficult = Paul used to do everything!

I totally agree Wendy, I always worry I have made the wrong decision and things do not turn out right.

For many years I had to make decisions fairly quick for the loved one's I cared for, I had no one to really ask who understood the situations, so now if I have to make a decision I just do it, if it's the wrong one it's my hard luck.

For many years even before caring I use to get most things sorted as my husband worked long hours, I have the last say anyway sp0

I always had to make life or death decisions with my job, and then when I was married my husband was more often away from home on courses, so I had to decide what to do for the best with our children.
I don't think I have explained how I feel today, it must be my age, as I find it really difficult making my mind up.
Once there was my mother and then my husband, but today for an instant decision, over a small matter, it seems like a mountain.

It would be lovely to have the support and someone to bounce ideas and issues off on. I really miss thus too Wendy. It is a mountainous responsibility and sometimes completely overwhelming x

I miss this too Wendy, even though Bill is still here, I always have to make the decisions & then if things go wrong, he blames me.
I struggled this afternoon, with fixing the bracket back up on the wall for my hanging basket , as it came loose with all the winds, it took me ages, it is high up & my arms were killing me trying to put the new screws in while holding the bracket above my head. But I did it!!!

Good on you Annie. It is so hard when you have things to do on your own. I know what you mean by being blamed it is so upsetting when they do this. We are definitely all strong independent women and should be very proud of ourselves. But yes it is lonely x

I can't believe it!! After struggling to fix the bracket for the hanging basket, I checked it this am & I have put it the wrong way up!!! It can stay like that now, I am not struggling to get it back down, it will still hold my basket, but just doesn't match the one at the other side
