When people do not know the difference

Postby wendy » 02 Mar 2015, 16:32

Forgive me, but this has happened twice now.
When a carer says they want a PC desktop, and then say they did not know the difference and really wanted a tablet.
It is a good job we had not gone out to their house, or they would have wasted more of our time.
As if we dont have enough to do, and the paper work and postage they waste, makes me furious.

It makes you wonder if they don't know the difference, do they have any idea at all of how to use any of them ?

They don't realize all the hard work that goes into it before they even go out to carers.

i think they think we are social services.
I had better start the phone conversation by telling the person who we are. It will take me forever, especially if I have to give description of what a table top PC is like lol do877 do877

If we send a form to them, maybe send an info sheet? It would save some time on the phone explaining ?

I can see your frustration Wendy.

Sounds a good idea Liz. It would save repeating yourself. Maybe include pictures of the computers and save your sanity Wendy!!!! sp0

thank you,
I usually speak to them on the phone before I send out two forms at different times.
I try to save us money and time before I even send out the application form, and then I send out an acceptance if they are to receive one.
I will have to spend more time describing a desk top PC over the phone, somehow.

The carers usually are very grateful, and we have one going out on Friday, she was in tears because she could not believe she will receive a PC and a printer/scanner, all free.
It is the greedy people who already have a PC and expect to get something for nothing that make the problems.
