wondering what to do

I should have retired last week before they decided to up the retirement age limit for people of my age another 7 years.
I don't think I can keep on working and caring for another 7 years.
and then , its a choice between getting my pension or carers allowance.
I cant have a bus pass or other pensioners entitlements  for another 7 yrs, if I could I might decide to retire early and just carry on  claiming  my ca. I can now thankfully get free prescriptions which is very welcome.
I wish that the ca entitlement rules would allow full time carers over 60 to be given  free bus passes and pensioner entitlements and status the same as the nhs allows anyone over 60 free prescriptions whether they are full time carers or not.

Hear, hear Honey .. if Dad hadn't had his companion pass it would have cost me a fortune in bus fares when I was caring for him when we went out, as we made a habit of going out when ever he felt well enough in case the next few days he didn't.

I now get a "weekly ticket" which cost me £19 a week, if I paid a return fare each day it would cost me about £40! I usually pop into the city most days just to have a change from sitting inside the house even if it is just for a cuppa then home again...

Honey, I would feel very peeved and decidedly "diddled" as well ...

I thought the pension age was 65/66 if you are 60 now not 67, I got my pension at 61 which was 2 years ago.
Why don't you try for a companion pass like Liz had.

I went on the gov website to check when I would get my pension, I get it 6 weeks before I am 67.
