Hi everybody, and thank you for your support. Paul is still in hospital, and I doubt he will be fit enough to be discharged this side of Christmas. Whatever happens, he can't come home to live any more, which is very upsetting for us both. He needs 24/7 nursing so will have to go into a home (I hope locally). Every time he recovers from one thing, something else happens, so he is quite poorly. Tomorrow is going to be a sad day for me because they are taking away his bed and equipment - it will seem so final - like I'm throwing him out of his home. I'll keep you all posted as and when things happen, but thanks again for the support xx

Had a lovely visit tonight with Paul, he seemed much brighter than when I saw him on Wednesday. We had a long chat about him not coming home to live any more and he was fine about it all, and is relieved I think, because he didn't like me having to do everything for him. He told me I can just go every other day to visit, but he had his tea, with help from a nurse, and we had a laugh.

Tomorrow I've got a meeting with a social worker at the hospital at 12.00, we are going to discuss Pauls needs, and where we go from here. I saw Paul yesterday and he had an upset tummy again and they had to wash him & change all the bed. I'll let you all know how things go tomorrow.

ok, I went to see Paul this afternoon and while I was there he had a small fit. We've got the meeting tomorrow with the multi-disciplinary team, could be interesting, but I wish I had someone who could be an advocate for me to help with jargon etc.

Don't worry about jargon Sheila, the NHS Continuing Care assessors from Norwich area are very nice patient people and will explain things in understanding terms, there is no jargon for you to worry about.
