Hi everyone, this is Stephen's family. Unfortunately in the last 24 hours Stephen's condition has deteriorated to where he can no longer communicate through this page himself. Unfortunately the breathlessness which had him re-admitted to hospital is due to the regrowth of tumours which are blocking his airways, and not just due to infection as we had all been hoping. He is currently comfortable and stable, and we will let you know of any further developments. Right now however, as a family, we wish for a certain amount of privacy for us to spend what time he has remaining with him. We appreciate everyone's concern, and for all the love and goodwill sent his way, and indeed ours too, we thank you deeply x

Stephens Story

Teenage cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton has died peacefully in his sleep, his mother said on his Facebook page.

The 19-year-old, from Burntwood in Staffordshire, raised more than £3.2m for the Teenage Cancer Trust after news of his plight spread on social media.

In a post announcing Stephen's death, Jane Sutton said he was a "courageous, selfless, inspirational son".

Stephen was diagnosed with terminal cancer aged 15.

Late teenage cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton has become an MBE in a Queen's Birthday Honours List which also recognises actor Daniel Day-Lewis with a knighthood.

He was an amazing young man, his family must be very proud and honoured for what he has achieved.

Very well deserved and must be lovely for his family to see his recognition and that he will always be remebered.
