My dad was a survivor he was on the HMS Barham, whe it got blew up,i don't know what made me google it I watched it being blown up I don't know how anybody did survive after watching it.
Years ago when we were on holiday a battleship came into a port, and people could go on board and look around, when we got there the quene was miles long,so my dad went up to the captain and said he was a survivor from the Barham, and we didn't have to quene my mum said to him you slouldnt have done that.
When we were going back to the hotel we were taken back in a chauffeur driven car.

I have seen the film of that too...it really annoys me when they use the footage of HMS Barham for other ships.

Good for your Dad, it shows how the Navy look after their own ...

Ann your dad was a very lucky man to survive, thank goodness he did.  gpr

The Navy does looks after their own, my Grandfather was in the Navy during WW1 and even years later when my nan was widowed in 1948 they helped her with various things and a small Naval pension till her death in 1982.

over the weekend if members could start some new topics or find some jokes, or look up old stuff from chill, then it will keep the forum moving.

have a great weekend and enjoy yourselves.

Thank you very much Ann
