SUPERMARKET chain ASDA is to bring Jamie Oliver-inspired ‘Wonky Veg’ boxes to five of its East Lancashire stores.

It is part of a scheme to cut waste and household bills
Several Lancashire and Cumbria stores will sell the type of knobbly and wonky shaped, but perfectly edible, fruit and vegetables championed by Channel 4’s ‘Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast’,

The family-sized ‘wonky’ produce filled boxes are now on sale at ASDA's Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Colne, and Rawtenstall stores.

They cost £3.50 each

Glad the supermarkets are starting to sell wonky veg, instead of it being thrown away, as it was such a waste. Still tastes the same whether wonky or straight.
