please be aware of late wasps in this warm weather cycle

Postby Honey » 01 Nov 2015, 02:25

I got stung 8 times on my thigh by a wasp on Friday
It was on the sofa, had entered through the open window and I didn't see it when I sat down.
Very painful. Very sore. do877
Remember ...
Vinegar for wasp stings
Bi carbonate of soda for bee stings.
Had to get extra hydrocortisone ointment from chemist.
Am feeling better now.
Ps,
the wasp flew out of the window after stinging me do877

Sounds sore Honey, I once got stung on back of my neck about this time of year.
They normally die after stinging.

I was waiting at the bus stop at the weekend and saw a wasp inside of the glass trying to get out the wrong side of the 3-sided bus shelter - I was pleasantly surprised that no-one went into a panic and tried to squish it.

I saw several wasps last week but they seemed OK.
I am glad you are OK honey you are lucky that it didn't make you really poorly.

I was a bit poorly over the weekend, think it was the toxins in the stings that made me feel off colour.
Thank you everyone for your kindness.
Bees die after stinging, wasps don't. Wasps can give multiple stings, I looked it up.
Still got some slight discomfort in area of stings but much better now thanks to the cream from chemist.

Good grief 8 times? That was one angry wasp!

No wonder you felt ill. Hope your lumps and pain have gone down.
