The second season of BBC One’s drama series Last Tango In Halifax will premiere on Tuesday November 19th at 9pm, it has been announced
Created by Sally Wainwright, Last Tango In Halifax follows Alan Buttershaw and Celia Dawson, two widowers in their 70s who, when their grandchildren put them on Facebook, rediscover feelings for one another that are just as intense and beautiful now as they were 60 years ago when they were teenagers. The drama series is produced by Red Production Company and stars Derek Jacobi, Anne Reid, Nicola Walker, Sarah Lancashire, Tony Gardner, Dean Andrews and Ronni Ancona. The first episode of the show’s second season picks up immediatelft after the season one finale with Alan (Derek Jacobi) regaining consciousness from his heart scare, much to Celia’s (Anne Reid) relief and delight. She promises to never fall out with him again and reflecting that life’s too short, they decide to get married.
