Texting and Facebook spell the end for birthday cards

Postby wendy » 07 Aug 2015, 10:34

I found this in todays carers paper, and strangely I have bought a birthday card today.
I dont think I will stop sending them, what do you think you will do?

Less than half of 35 to 54-year-olds have sent a greeting card in last month
Instead, people are sending texts, Facebook messages or online 'e-cards'
People under age of 44 say they prefer to send greeting via online platform
Just one in five Britons aged 16 to 24 think a mailed card is the best option

I will carry on sending birthday cards, as I love making them and my friends and family enjoy receiving them. Older people enjoy receiving a card through the post, I use to send out birthday cards to the over 75 patients, when I was working and for some of them that was the only card they received, how sad.

Where I live there is always a big queue in the card shop.
It is a very busy shop.
Many are young people too.
