Deciding if a child is ready to be left home alone or go out by themselves can be a tricky decision.

During the summer months, the NSPCC helpline sees a significant rise in calls relating to children being left alone.

It received 2,489 calls from concerned adults last year across the UK, including Bath.

To help parents, the NSPCC is publishing new guides containing advice for parents and carers.
