I know someone who had Acorn and they had loads of trouble with the company.
cost them thousands as well, but in the end they had it removed, again at a cost.

Auntie Fred a had a stair lift for Uncle Johnny, when he died, she asked them to take it out, they wanted to charge her £300, so she didn'tbother
