Would you like the marriage license to be renewed?

Postby wendy » 10 Apr 2015, 10:35

A lady came on our local radio (she had been married for 60 years) and she made a suggestion that the marriage license should be renewed after 3 years, and then every ten years.
She felt it would make couples work harder to keep a marriage.
What do you think?

I think more would not be renewed and less people would get married in the first place.

So in theory you couldnot renew and be aautomatically divorced? It might encourage people to marry without being committed properly as they know they can get out of it.

There is too much paperwork as it is renewing a license would be another thing to forget to do!

I certainly do not think it would make people work harder at their marriage, it would make it easier to divorce.
