Invitation to Attend the Launch of WEN Wales Real Life

Perspectives on Unpaid Care Research Report
We would like to invite you to attend the launch of our new research report, ‘Real Life Perspectives on Unpaid Care’, and take part in a roundtable discussion to support the development of WEN Wales’s ‘key asks’ for women who care in Wales.
We would really value your contribution and hope that you will be able to join us.
Date: Thursday 16th June
Time: 9.30am – 1.00pm
Venue: Bute Park Education Centre, Cardiff
Lunch will be provided
The author of the report, Rosa Robinson (Work with Meaning), will give a presentation about the findings.
This qualitative research is based on in-depth interviews and survey responses from over 70 women across Wales. The research explored both the parental responsibilities for the care of children and unpaid, long-term, regular support given to family members and friends.
We know that women shoulder primary responsibility for unpaid care-giving and this research aimed to uncover the stories behind the statistics. By sharing women’s personal and emotional experiences of caregiving and how it affects them, we show the value and cost of unpaid care beyond the numbers.
The agenda for the morning is attached with this message.
Places are strictly limited, so please RSVP to admin@wenwales.org.uk (Tel: 07511 939235) by Friday 10th June.
