Dementia Citizens is seeking people with dementia and carers to help us develop a new digital 'citizen science' community. This will help people to get involved in dementia research using a mobile phone or tablet.

To take part you need to be

A person with dementia, or a carer for a person with dementia.
Available for up to 2 hours on the week of 28th March 2016.
Living no more than 2 hours from London.

You'll be visited in your own home by our researchers. They will ask you a few simple questions about:

Your lifestyle
A new website and mobile phone app for the Dementia Citizens community

The research will take approximately 2 hours. You will receive a £20 Tesco or Sainsbury voucher as a thank you for your time.

If you’re interested in taking part or finding out more, please contact Alli Suddaby, Dementia Citizens Programme Manager, on allison.suddaby@nesta.org.uk or 07766 242750.
More about Dementia Citizens

Dementia Citizens is a new digital 'citizen science' community that will enable people affected by dementia to take an active part in research to support dementia care and connect with researchers online.

Dementia Citizens aims to help people with dementia find meaningful digital activities to enjoy with their carers at any time. Participants will be able to use a smartphone or tablet to engage in an activity, such as listening to music or creating a digital life story book, and answer a few questions about wellbeing. The information collected will help researchers to design better care.

The project is led by Nesta and supported by the Department of Health, Alzheimer’s Society, and Alzheimer’s Research UK. Read more at www.dementiacitizens.org.
Why we want to involve people affected by dementia

It is important to us that people with dementia, their families and carers, are at the heart of the development process. In doing so, they can shape Dementia Citizens and help us design it in a way that will be engaging and meaningful for people to use. The feedback we get now will help us to improve Dementia Citizens.
More about the researchers

The researchers that will visit participants are from SP+EE, a design research company for healthcare. SP+EE is working with Nesta to build the Dementia Citizens website and smartphone apps.
What will happen next

If you contact us to say you’re interested in taking part in this research, we’ll get in touch to

Ask you some questions about yourself and tell you about our work.
If we all decide to continue, we’ll set a date and time for the interview.
