Update on Green Acres in Guernsey

All systems go to get Green Acres converted

IT IS full steam ahead for the Green Acres conversion, its care manager-to-be has said.

Moira Boyd was speaking the day after the multi-million pound project was granted permission after a two-year battle. Environment board members went against the professional planners to approve the project, and will announce the conditions attached within a fortnight.

For now, Mrs Boyd said it was time to start unleashing the energy which has built up during the planning process. ‘We are just waiting for the planning department to tell us the conditions, but it is all systems go,’ she said.
‘We have got to make meetings with the architects, surveyors and solicitors.

‘Realistically I think it is going to take 12 months to get this all done, but we have hit the ground running today.
‘We have got to go out to tender, but this is not a building project, it is a refurbishment project. Since yesterday, the phone has not stopped ringing.’
