Why do they leave it so late?

Postby wendy » 27 Jun 2015, 09:04

I have just been speaking on the phone to a lady who would like an IT lesson, she said now her husband is ill he cannot drive.
She is going to have to learn to drive and she is 81.
They live out in the country so depend on the car.
But why oh, why do they leave it so long?
Please learn to drive whilst you are fit and healthy not leave it till you are older.

You are right Wendy, W virtually had to force D to take lessons & she hated it & used the car as little as possible, however, now there are many occasions where W is unable to drive and she has no choice, so they would have been in a mess now if she hadn't learned

I didn't start lessons til I was in my late 30s & it was W who encouraged me when he was learning to drive , as a 17 years old. I am so glad that I did
