I have a family friend who will be 103 this week. This got me pondering, does anyone know where we could find statistics for men living in Norfolk over 100 or indeed across the UK.
I say men, because it is usually women who live the longest or is it?

That is very true Wendy, my gran lived till she was nearly 102, my mum is 90 this year and her older sister is 91. My dad died at 69 and my uncle was 75.

You hear of men living longer these days, I think also depends where you live as well as I have ancesters live into their 90's in the 1800's who lived North/West Norfolk.

I think life expectancy will begin to decline again in the next generation, there are so many young obese now with diabetes & who drink smoke and take drugs to excess. Raising the retirement age steadily to 70 will also affect longevity
I have no idea where you would find such records Wendy other than trawling through the electorial register

i have emailed our local paper and maybe they will take this up.
I feel it would be most interesting to know.
I expect the National statistics have some records but I could not make sense of it when I took a look.
