Scam Alert – Telephone cold calls claiming to be from NCC

Norfolk Trading Standards are again warning Norfolk residents about telephone cold calls claiming to be from Norfolk County Council.

This follows further reports from residents who have received calls where the caller states they are calling from Norfolk County Council. In some cases the caller then goes on to say they are calling about PPI reclaiming and in others they state they are helping people make personal injury claims for accidents they have had.

Norfolk County Council do not cold call people regarding these issues and have no connection with these calls.

If you receive one of these calls do not give or confirm any information. Hang up and then report it to us via our partners the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 03454 04 05 06.

I had a PPI one this afternoon, she got so fed up of me saying could you repeat that and then asking her to spell each word she hung up on me, think I'm a cold callers nightmare.
