An elderly man was tricked out of his bank details after he was cold called by a con artist who claimed to be from his bank.
Police have issued a warning after the incident, which happened in Bowthorpe today.

The man received a call from a man who told him that he needed to change his bank cards and that a courier would be arranged to collect them.

A courier arrived at the victim’s address a short time later and they were given bank cards and PIN numbers. It is thought a fraudulent transaction has since been made on one of the cards.

In a second incident an elderly woman was telephoned at her Costessey home at about 1pm and asked a series of personal questions about her bank account.
