These budgets are available in each county

Are you in need of a break?

Our Carers Personal Budget Scheme may be able to help you.

A Carers Personal Budget is an amount of money awarded to you to give you a break from your caring role. You could receive between £200 and £500 if you are successful and you can choose how and when this is spent. The Carers Personal Budget Co-ordinator will help you to complete the application process and can even help you tailor your break if you need it. You will also learn about local services available to you as a Carer and get support to access these.

It is your legal entitlement to be offered a Carers Needs Assessment and is a way of supporting you by making sure that you receive information, advice and support. The assessment is your chance to discuss the way caring affects you and the impact it has on all aspects of your life. You are under no obligation to have a Carers Needs Assessment, however you have a legal right to request one and you may find it very useful. It can be done with the person you care for, taking both of your needs into account or you can request to have it doen completely separately.

To access a Personal Budget you need to:

Live in Cheshire East or Cheshire West and Chester

Access a Carers Needs Assessment

You can use your budget to access things such as leisure activities, short breaks, gym memberships, swimming or spa classes, dance classes or perhaps you want to take up a new hobby or take up some sight seeing?

You cannot apply for everyday items, pay for goods or trips that you have already purchases, pay for respite care, gambling, drugs or alcohol, services of a sex worker or items for the cared for person.

THE PROJECT WILL HELP YOU TO ACCESS ALL OF THE ABOVE AND CAN HELP YOU TO PLAN AND SPEND YOUR BUDGET
